Morata ‘Eager’ for Spain vs. Italy Clash and Shares Thoughts on Online Criticism

Alvaro Morata expressed his excitement for Spain’s upcoming match against Italy at EURO 2024, sharing his strategies for handling online criticism.

Both teams kicked off their European Championship journey with victories—Spain triumphed over Croatia 3-0, while Italy edged out Albania 2-1.

The showdown for the top spot in their group is set for Thursday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

“I’m feeling ready; our training has been excellent, and I’m eagerly anticipating this game,” Morata told La1, as reported by Sky Sport Italia.

In the opening match, Morata, a former Juventus striker, scored before leaving the field with a minor injury. However, he’s expected to be fit to lead Spain’s attack against Italy on June 20.

Roma, Juventus, and Milan Eyeing Morata

Morata is rumored to be on the radar of Serie A giants Juventus, Roma, and Milan. However, he admits his future with his current club remains uncertain.

“There are many important factors to consider. I still have a strong desire to win a title with Atletico Madrid.”

Despite his commendable scoring record, Morata has often faced harsh online criticism, particularly during his stint at Chelsea.

“That’s not criticism; it’s pure hatred and rage. Genuine criticism is something I accept as part of being a professional athlete. Sometimes I agree with it, sometimes I don’t, but I always use it to improve,” he said.
