Mohanlal’s Movie Joins the Rs 100 Crore Club

L2: Empuraan experienced a slight decrease in its box office collection on the second Monday. On its 12th day, the film garnered Rs 1.75 crore across all languages, as reported by Sacnilk. Despite this dip, the movie has impressively crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market, achieving a total collection of Rs 100.1 crore. On April 7, the film registered a Malayalam occupancy rate of 16.30%.

Creative Collaboration

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan stars the legendary Mohanlal in the lead role. This film marks the third collaboration between Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, following the successful films Lucifer (2019) and Bro Daddy (2022).

Mohanlal Praises Prithviraj Sukumaran

In a conversation with PTI, Mohanlal expressed his admiration for Prithviraj Sukumaran, describing him as a “sensitive director.” He said, “He (Prithviraj) is very good. This is my third film with him. Bro Daddy was a different film from Lucifer. He knows what he is doing, he is very keen on scripting. He is a sensitive director. He will give more importance to acting and is totally into the film.”

The Action and Future Prospects

Mohanlal further added, “This film demands action. I have done so many action movies, there is a different kind of action in them. It is a trilogy and we have one more chapter to come. We have not shot for it. It will take some time.”

Star-Studded Cast

Besides directing, Prithviraj Sukumaran also portrays the character of Zayed Masood in the movie. The film boasts a talented supporting cast, including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Sachin Khedekar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Eriq Ebouaney, and Jerome Flynn.
